Effective September 1, 2016,

The State of Texas Adopted the

2015 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC 2015)

to be followed when constructing any new residential home

With this new law all new single family residences built anywhere in the State of Texas after September 1, 2016 must be built in accordance with the IRC Energy code of 2015. 

This new code requires that all homes have a blower door test for air infilatration along with an A/C duct pressure test for air leakage before a certificate of occupancy (aka CO) can be issued.

There are also requirements for the home to be inspected at difference stages by a certified energy inspector to ensure compliance with the 2015 engergy code.

Only certified individuals are
able to perform the inspections, blower door test and the duct buster (pressure) test.

ENERGY CODE COMPLIANCE INSPECTIONS FOR RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL PROJECTS:

Inspections for compliance with the 2015 Energy code on new construction, remolding and additions (both residential and commercial).  I am certified to perform residential plan reviews for energy code and commercial inspections for energy code compliance.  Theinspections are aka 3rd party energy code inspections. 

I am also certified to perform the whole structue blower door test (infiltration) along with the HVAC duct pressure testing (aka duct blaster test).

ENERGY CODE COMPLIANCE TESTING:

New construction for residential and commercial must meet the energy code requirements for the area you are constructing in.  This requires that the structure pass a visual energy code compliance inspection.  In addition a infiltration test along with a HVAC duct pressure test be performed on the sturcture before a CO (certificate of occupancy) can be issed,  I perform all test necessary to meet those compliance requirements.
